This series is composed of 12 original abstract paintings, I used acrylics, china and acrylic inks, watercolors, gouache, and even gold leaves in the making of these paintings.
It was painted in what I call 4 different waves, each wave contains 3 paintings and each Wave represents the time between 4 crucial and life-changing episodes of my life during the years 2020 and the beginning of 2021, including the lockdowns during the COVID pandemic.

Into The Shadows follows up and evolves from the “A Pause” series, it preserves some common elements, such as flowers, connective lines, and colors. It integrates new figurative shapes like emotional portraits, the presence of “the stranger” and “the others” and aims to connect the viewer with the weight and density of the emotions expressed by the characters present in each painting.
Into the Shadows is the visual expression of my grieving process. I’m painting it as a part of my inner work to see, sit and acknowledge all the emotions I’m dealing with at the moment of its creation and aim to normalize such an inexorable (and so many times censored) experience for all of us.
